Ok, one where we had NO MONEY (as in serious lack) and two where it was tight (no gifts for us, no fancy food, but stetched enough to buy some simple gifts for in-laws).

Yes, there is more to Christmas spirit than spending. I'm not sorry about any of those Christmases. THe first and worst actually was one of the more special days I've ever spent. Hubby and I had our blessings in some near miracluous gifts from family that pulled us through an otherwise dark month.

I learnt that there is as much grace and blessing in recieiving as in giving.

As to tutoring... i've been a turtor and can only think from my experience that teachers resent you because you imply that they're not doing their job right or good enough.Michellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02284595314525240584noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26615740.post-70057855329263621562007-12-04T15:34:00.000-06:002007-12-04T15:34:00.000-06:00Kristen: Well if it is the program in general, th...Kristen: Well if it is the program in general, then they are taking it out on the tutors and/or tutoring agency. I think it may have something to do with the money. There has been so much money allocated for each child. If that child doesn't get tutoring, the schools keep the money. What a stupid way to organize the program!

Stepping Over: Same to ya!

Sayre: It will be interesting to see how this Christmas plays out - in a lot of areas.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26615740.post-46650992643205536262007-12-03T20:48:00.000-06:002007-12-03T20:48:00.000-06:00Maybe not as upbeat, but still not too bad. It was great!

One would think that the teachers and school system would want all the help it could get!Sayrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16350593991157139017noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26615740.post-64546053453076550242007-12-03T16:58:00.000-06:002007-12-03T16:58:00.000-06:00happy holidays. ugh.happy holidays. ugh.Stepping Over the Junkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09165163020885309533noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26615740.post-70462516653669602722007-12-03T14:56:00.000-06:002007-12-03T14:56:00.000-06:00You sure it's not the NCLB program they're referri...You sure it's not the NCLB program they're referring to? That's not very popular anyway you slice it. But seriously, I don't know why they wouldn't like tutors for kids. I know that there's some people in my neck of the woods that claim to cure dyslexia, which is total crap, and they try to convince parents that their testing is superior and they can fix said kids. So every once in awhile we get parents who bring that up. We just roll our eyes....and then kindly explain that that program is bogus.goddessdivinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03649750585495782767noreply@blogger.com
