Help Me Score some Coke!

I am in mourning today. I have recently found out that the only soft drink that I like is no longer available in my area. What am I going to do?

It is funny. I usually over-buy my Diet Coke with Lime. I never wanted my local Buehler's Buy Low to stop carrying it as other stores did. Ah, but I didn't know that I had to buy enough to keep the product in the CITY.

So, in my panic, I decided to go to coca-cola.com to see what my options were. I have NO options. They have no control of what of their products local distributors sell. No contol? It is YOUR product. I don't pretend that they are going to try to force our local distributor into carrying something for some schmoe in southern Indiana. However, for marketing purposes, they should have SOME control.

They also don't sell drinks online. Oh, they sell shirts, trays, sunglasses, and any other thing you can think of that will not satisfy one's thirst, but Coke does not sell COKE!

I did find a couple of places I can buy them online. Do you know how much shipping costs are for a 12 pack of drinks? Twenty bucks or more! So for $28, I can buy my precious Diet Coke with Lime. I guess I need to play the lottery more.

ROADTRIP!!! Just think of this as your "Coors". Remember Smokey and the Bandit? This is a perfect excuse to get out and see the world around you. The search for Lime Diet Coke. Maybe they'll make a movie about you...

All that Aspartame causes tumors any way. How any body can pump their body full of a nerve toxin married to caffeine is beyond me -- unless the stuf has an addictive quality, like say nicotine...

You're better off spalshing some real lime in some real coke and then hitting the treadmill for 30-minutes.

Sayre: I'm getting married. Not much time for road trips. :( I don't even know where to go! :)

Jerry: Thanks for your concern. lol But this isn't a teachable moment. ;)

Interesting title.... But atlas, I can look for you here in Michigan but I can't promise you anything. I know it was pretty big in Florida, but no one I know there is talking to me. Sorry, dude.... Tawnya

Keep your diet coke, but why can't you buy limes? Helluva lot cheaper than paying for shipping. Probably tastes better too--put in as much or as little as you want.

dude, you are screwed!
I'm sorry for laughing. I can't hlp it. I have 2 12 packs in my pantry right now because, like you, i love diet coke with lime.

But then it wouldn't have that fake lime artificial flavor, which goes so well with the fake sugar flavor.

Tawnya and DesLily: Yeah, I'm in trouble. Even if you had it where you were, the shipping would still be ridiculous.

Two Write Hands: Alas, that is what I must do, but it isn't the same. When I go to a restaurant, I always order lime with my DC. It is okay, but it is akin to a knockoff perfume - it is similar, but you can tell it just isn't the same thing.

Laura: A little compassion? What would you do if they took your DCwL away? ;)

Jodi: It seems it is everywhere but here. However, the Coke company can't tell me where it is or isn't. They sent me a form email telling me that I am screwed - as if I didn't know.

Jerry: I admire your conviction in your crusade against Aspertame. I am not sure why it is so vigorus, but hey, you must have your reasons. And you are right, the fake lime flavor with the fake sugar flavor just can't be matched with "real thing". Don't you know that Coke is the real thing? ;)
